Empire Aristocrat 1954 Typewriter

A working  and fully functional Empire Aristocrat from 1954. A copy, but under license, of the early 50's Swiss-made Hermes Rocket. This is the version with round plastic keys and manual flip paper guide.
It is said that the leader of the Mt. Everest expedition in 1953, Sir John Hunt, had used an Empire Aristocrat to document their journey in which Sir Edmund Hillary (also a known Aristocrat user) and  Tenzing Norgay became the first climbers confirmed to have reached the summit.
    
Comes with the following:
- metal case with retractable handle,
- and an extra ribbon.
